The cashier asked a series of questions to complete the application for financing on my purchase.  Among the questions, how long have you been at your current employer?  My reply, as of tomorrow, Oct 1st, I will be there 15 years.  I’m making this purchase as a gift to myself.

Her reply:  “you deserve it!”

I’m not sure how she came to that conclusion but I do think 15 years deserves something special.  I probably should have had frozen yogurt or a frappuccino instead but after test driving my friend’s new camera yesterday, I was smitten.  I went home, did some research and recalled my last major camera purchase led to many adventures, captured memories and even a magazine cover.  I decided to buy the camera today.

Here’s her first ‘baby picture’ taken with my iPhone.  I wasn’t sure what to name the camera.  Some many options.  Pearl?  Betty?  Gladiator?

Here’s a look at the very first two photos taken with the camera.  The photos are quite impressive considering the lighting in my living room was dim. The moment I previewed the photo I knew the camera’s name:  Rockalita Sunshine.

This camera is way more than I need but I look forward to developing my skills over time.  I’ll also be enjoying a variety of Ramen Noodles for awhile.  😉

Perhaps it was a whim or maybe I applied Dale Carnegie’s principle:  “Once a decision is reached, act!”  Whatever it was, I’m glad I made the purchase.
