Here’s the funny part…

When the Chamber invited me to give this 10-minute educational presentation, I hadn’t even delivered my 7-minute Company Spotlight yet.

Naturally, my first thought was, “Are you sure you have the right person?”

I don’t own a business. I’m a relatively new employee at Home Run Pest & Termite Control and Abracadabra Lawn Pest & Weed Control. I was convinced everyone in the room would have more experience than I did.

So I kept asking myself:

“What could I possibly teach a room full of business professionals?”

Then it hit me.

Don’t talk about what you don’t know.

Talk about what you do know.

When this opportunity came along, I was in the middle of taking the Dale Carnegie Course again. It reminded me of something I had learned years ago: people remember experiences far more than facts.

That lesson has completely changed the way I approach networking. It has helped me become more confident, create memorable interactions, and represent Home Run and Abracadabra in ways that people genuinely remember. It also requires me to push myself out of my comfort zone.

So that’s what I’ll be sharing.

This won’t be your typical “read-the-slides” PowerPoint presentation. I’ve spent days putting together a fast-paced, interactive talk filled with practical ideas you can start using immediately.

And because I can’t seem to help myself, there will be props.

There will also be two useful giveaways to help attendees stay organized.
