I love mushrooms! Stuffed mushrooms. Fried mushrooms. Raw mushrooms. And of course, I love photographing mushrooms.
Here’s a very interesting looking mushroom spotted recently at the Ft. Worth Nature Center & Refuge. I’ve never seen anything like it.
Rather than just photograph it from above, I decided to lie flat on my stomach so I could get a different perspective.
While completely lost in the moment, my friend snapped a photo of a curious looking subject (me!) I had no idea he took that shot. But it certainly does capture the fun I was having and also gives you a behind the scenes look at the mushroom photo shoot.
But back to the mushroom. I did a simple search online and discovered it’s a morel mushroom—which among mushroom fans, is a prized specimen. For more information on morels and mushrooms in general, check out this Wild About Mushrooms page.

Tips: Embrace nature! If you see something interesting to photograph, try taking photos from different angles. Yes, you might get a little messy but the results are worth it.
