We were having lunch at a restaurant in Frankfurt, Germany.  I photographed my sandwich before eating it.

When I returned home I decided to show Steve, a professional photographer and friend, some of my photos.  He commented that food photos are often challenging to photograph and that I did a nice job.  It was his compliment that encouraged me to continue my zeal for photographing food.
