Visual Art League of Lewisville

I joined the Visual Art League of Lewisville

I unlocked one of life’s greatest mysteries.

I have been wondering how individuals get their art displayed in exhibitions.

The answer is stunningly easier than I ever fathomed:  Join an art league!

When I attended the first meeting of the Visual Art League of Lewisville, themes were reviewed and I sat with a bewildered look on my face.  Are there fees?  Our art gets displayed…just like that?  How many pieces of art can we submit?  Does the art have to be hung on a wall?

What strange, mythical world did I stumble in to and how am I fortunate enough to be permitted to join?

Resilience

Just recently I was rummaging through my garage and came upon a bucket of the metal junk I had apparently forgotten to discard.  With the launch of Empirical Whimsy, you can imagine my excitement.  Rediscovered objects!

I am absolutely thrilled to have turned pieces of junk into lemonade.  Continue reading Resilience

Betty Bluetiful of Mrs. Stewart’s Liquid Bluing

Empirical Whimsy

I picked this flower just for you!

If you have kids or remember your own childhood, you know that kids tend to yank flowers (often weeds) from the ground and proudly present them to mom.  Their good intentions and exuberance sometimes result in just a petal or maybe just the bud… or in this case, just the stem of the pretty flower!  Continue reading I picked this flower just for you!
