I have a collection of unusual items on my shelves and as long as I can prove their usefulness, I’ll probably continue to collect them. Among the items, is this dragonfly. I don’t remember where I found it but it certainly made a fun subject to photograph this evening.
In this photo you can see the wings aren’t in pristine condition. I hadn’t noticed until taking the photo.
I enjoy taking photos from different angles. In this photo it’s as if the dragonfly is posing for the photo.
The ‘platform’ the dragonfly is resting on is packaging from an electronic I recently purchased. It was a good size and shape – so I decided to spray paint it and see if I could put it to good use. That was last week. I think I’ve proven it came in handy this evening!
The photo below shows another interesting feature – the gold ‘accents’ on the edge of the wings.
I’d like to say that I was drawn to the gold ribbon because it mimics the design on the wings. That would be really clever and well planned. But no, that wasn’t it. I liked the shiny gold color and how the ribbon naturally curled. The ribbon was used as decoration on a Christmas gift from a couple years ago… again, this proves it’s worth saving stuff!
This photo is cropped funny but I really like it. My focus was on the top right wing and the ribbon.
A close-up of the gold ‘accents’ on the wings with the gold ribbon in the background and foreground.
