In trying to select the next set of photos to share I came upon a stash of photos that are among my favorites. I’m surprised it has taken me several weeks to realize I need to start an obvious new category: Food as Art. I love food—especially meat! But don’t worry, I’ll keep the category open to a variety of foods including vegetables, pastas and my other favorite: desserts.
The photos were taken at the Great Market Hall in Budapest. It’s an indoor market—and based on Wikipedia it’s the largest in Budapest.
Our tour guide took us there and we loved it so much we went back on our own. Originally I planned on showing you just one photo but now I feel compelled to share a few more.
Here’s the first photo to inspire the new Food as Art category. Down the road I may start a separate category: Processed Meats as Art. I might have enough to populate that category.
Cheese is another favorite food.
I was quite fascinated with the variety of meat at this market. This certainly isn’t my local Kroger’s or Albertson’s.
Let this shot be a lesson to us all. I was ready to buy a cookie but when I placed my order I was told I needed to buy more than one. I was too cheap to buy more than one cookie… so I took a photo instead. Since that time, I have learned to buy more than one cookie. Carpe diem!
See those cookies with red jelly and stripes of chocolate? Those should have been mine!
