Mother and Child

Honorable Mention: Mother & Child

When we are born, we have the future ahead of us and it is full of opportunity.  At this starting point, I imagine the photo properly framed and in pristine condition.  But time marches on.  We grow, we age, and eventually the pristine photo becomes tattered as it fades, creases and eventually falls out of the frame.

We want so much to be remembered while on this earth (as suggested with the handwritten “Remember Me” in the frame).  But even this photo that was once treasured by someone, has no names, dates or locations on the back – nothing to denote who the people are, where they are from, etc.  Instead of being remembered, we are eventually forgotten. I’m particularly fond of observing the journey of people, objects and experiences over time.

A variety of events transpired over a period of years for just the right moment of convergence to happen.  Then the spark of creativity was ignited, and the artwork was created. Continue reading Art on Main – Convergence Exhibition

Find Solace in the Little Things

Pilot Point Coffee House Art Exhibition: I have a duck, doll legs and a dog on display!

It’s a mad world when my art is scattered around the metroplex in various art exhibits. I am grateful to have these opportunities that have all originated from a decision to join the Visual Art League of Lewisville (VAL). By attending VAL meetings, I met guest speaker, Justine Wollaston Scott, who organizes art exhibits at the Pilot Point Coffee House (among her many talents!)

A selection of my art is on display in Justine’s latest exhibit, “Autumn’s Palette” at the Pilot Point Coffee House, starting September 29th – mid-November. Continue reading Pilot Point Coffee House Art Exhibition: I have a duck, doll legs and a dog on display!
