I collect ventriloquist’s dolls and took one of my newest dolls on the road trip. This post highlights the adventures of Finnegan Wilbur at the hotel.

A trip down to the basement. There’s a ‘beauty salon’.
Finn was interested in getting a perfect tan in 5 minutes. But unfortunately, the salon was closed.
He settled for some ‘me time’ to decompress.
Tore helped Finn get a character reading.
We assured him he has all the best character traits.
But then things went downhill. There was a former liquor store in the basement.
Finnegan made his way to the bar at the ground level.
Finnegan, the piano player and creative genius.
He wowed us with his talent.
Speaking of entertainment. The best part of staying at the Arlington (the only part) was the live music on Friday and Saturday night. This was unlike anything Tore and I had experienced. We spotted them right away. Experienced dancers. They were even wearing proper dance shoes. They spotted us too – we hit the dance floor for cha cha and of course Lindy Hop.
We learned they are the Spa City Bop and Swing Dance Club of Hot Springs. We felt very much at home and would have loved to join their group. I enjoyed watching them more than anyone else I have seen. The couples had been married for years and you could see their love for each other as they danced. There were some very sweet looking grandpas among them.

The discussion continued on the second level.
We found the bath house at the hotel. It was closed for the night but that didn’t keep Finn from looking…creepy.
Outside views of the hotel.
We found the pool.
While doing the photo shoot, we caught the attention of a couple sitting at the pool. We explained Finn and his other buddies have an Instagram page. Oddly enough, this didn’t scare our new friends away. We were invited to take a photo.
We certainly have memories and unique stories about our stay at The Arlington!
Thanks for sharing your pictures and comments. We just got back from staying at The Arlington as a one night stop off on our way home to Dallas. Our experience was not quite as bad as yours but yeah the hotel could use a little TLC!
