Big Bertha's Adventures

Withered yet still a striking beauty!

I didn’t want to let the roses go to waste after they were past their prime.  So I let them dry.  These drooping, sad looking roses make a great subject for photography!

I started out with a rose on a shiny black poster board.

Next I experimented by adding ribbon.

This is my favorite shot—I really like the reflection of the ribbon on the poster board.

Tips:
Let flowers dry and reuse them for interesting photo shoots!  These roses were used in several shots when they were fresh and throughout their ‘drying’ process.

  1. You really proved your point with that last photo. It totally reminds me of portrait studios that use such simple backgrounds and props (which are sometimes dirty or wrinkled to the naked eye) to produce such amazing photos.
