Big Bertha's Adventures

You want me to photograph that? – A Bullet!

This is part of the ongoing series I call, “You want me to photograph that?”  If you missed the first one, click here.

Sam:  “You’ll either like this item or you’ll hate it.”

I was intrigued with the object he wanted me to photograph for the “You want me to photograph that?” series.

He explained the uses for this bullet.  I listened and took notes.

When I arrived home I immediately tried photographing the bullet.

This is a standard photo – and a reflection of me trying to get used to photographing a small item.

My attempt at getting creative:  placing the bullet upright.

I decided it would be fun to incorporate an N Scale train conductor into the scene.

This is where the photo shoot took quite a turn.  Among my unusual stash of stuff I have a dead butterfly / moth.  I decided to put it to use by incorporating with the bullet.  Now the bullet has wings.

I also have branches in my collection of ‘natural’ items.  It seemed appropriate the winged bullet should perch on a branch.

I added a sky background to add authenticity to the scene.  😉

Next I added flowers for a softer touch.

One last photo.  As you can imagine, I had a difficult time narrowing down the number of photos to share.

Tips:
Remember, when I started shooting this item I wasn’t very inspired.  The shots are nice but I knew I could do something more.  So my solution:  I let time pass and waited for inspiration to come – and it did!  Sometimes when you feel uninspired it’s best not to force matters.  Wait for that spark of creativity – it will come and when it does the process is a whole lot easier and fun.

Notes:
