As many of you know, I’m a member of the Visual Art League of Lewisville. When I joined roughly 3 years ago I was a complete stranger yet I was quickly welcomed into the group. It took me decades to finally find “my people.”
Diane Wright, the President at the time, quickly recruited me to volunteer. Jerry McKay (JAM), the treasurer and part of the welcome wagon, explained the process of submitting art. This got me on the fast track to actively participate. Continue reading North Texas Giving Day – Visual Art League of Lewisville
When we are born, we have the future ahead of us and it is full of opportunity. At this starting point, I imagine the photo properly framed and in pristine condition. But time marches on. I didn’t plan to buy art when I joined the Visual Art League of Lewisville. But there are moments – magical moments when you find “the one”. It’s glaringly obvious the art belongs to you. You see it. Then you declare it emphatically: “it’s mine.” Continue reading Fly on the Wall at the Visual Art League of Lewisville
