I first visited the East Texas Arboretum and Botanical Society in 2008. I drove 100 miles (one way) to get there and I went to celebrate my birthday weekend.
This park was the first place I have encountered a red capped mushroom. It is among my favorites in my ongoing “Fungus As Art” series.
Eight years later I returned to the park, this time with some friends. Here are some pink/red themed highlights. Since I have over 200,000 photos (at some point it’s a bit excessive/redundant/boring), I decided to try different angles.
I am pleased with the results.

Beautiful. What kind of mushroom is that?
I did a Google search but I’m not sure.
