Random Object Wednesday: I had no idea what I was photographing

Jeff Crump handed me a bag with a random object to photograph. Jeff:  “I added a new battery.” I took the bag home, prepared the studio and took the object out of the bag. Denise:  “What did I get myself into?” I knew Jeff made the item and it was impressive.  It has a power switch to turn lights on. The Dragonfly: A cooperative subject to photograph

This photo was taken at one of my favorite locations—the Ft. Worth Botanical Gardens.  There’s a pond that is quite popular where people like to get their photos taken.  Usually they create a commotion, get their pictures taken then move on.  I can remain in that area for 15 minutes to a half hour—maybe even longer.  It’s the best spot to ‘hunt’ for interesting subjects to photograph—like the dragonfly. It was 10 am on a September day in 2010. I remember what I was wearing—and since it was 10 am I hadn’t had a Java Chip Frappuccino yet.
