I joined the Visual Art League of Lewisville

I unlocked one of life’s greatest mysteries.    

I have been wondering how individuals get their art displayed in exhibitions. 

The answer is stunningly easier than I ever fathomed:  Join an art league!

When I attended the first meeting of the Visual Art League of Lewisville, themes were reviewed and I sat with a bewildered look on my face.  Are there fees?  Our art gets displayed…just like that?  How many pieces of art can we submit?  Does the art have to be hung on a wall? 

What strange, mythical world did I stumble in to and how am I fortunate enough to be permitted to join?

8th Grade Autograph Book from 1946 – Paris, Texas: Part 2

I recently purchased a little red autograph book from Curiosities in Dallas.  It belonged to an 8th grader named Ramona Holmes who lived in Paris, Texas in 1946. 

I’ve spent some late nights researching the people and places referenced in the book.  I was also able to cajole my friend Tore into a day trip to Paris for further research.
