I have a new piece of art in the “Beauty in the Unexpected” exhibit at the Lewisville Grand Theater.
Title:
Grandpa’s Last Walk
Medium: Photography
Description:
Ordinary objects tell a story, but you must look closely.
Size: 16” x 13 ¼

Details:
There’s a story behind the imperfection. This photo was taken a few years ago at my grandparents’ home. My uncle “saved” the scene for me – he knew I would appreciate the meaning and details (note the dirt on the wheel). I didn’t change any elements in the scene – I wanted to preserve the moment exactly as it was.
In a perfect world of proper composition and lighting the walker would not be cut off on the right side of the photo. But sometimes the circumstances require flexibility and adaptability – not to mention I had just arrived for my grandfather’s funeral. It was more important to capture the imperfections, emotions and human element instead of getting caught up with the rules of crafting the perfect social media post or gallery-worthy art.
Exhibit Dates: May 11 – June 1
Location: Lewisville Grand Theater
